Terms of Service

Last updated 8 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and us about using 2bytes. Creating an account means accepting them. They are short because the service is simple.

1. Who provides the service

2bytes is operated by the team that publishes the 2bytes apps (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@2bytes.app. The service is free; there is nothing to buy inside it.

2. Where the service is offered

2bytes is not offered in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. It is not marketed there, it is not available from the app stores of those countries, and it is not intended for people living there. The servers are in Russia, and we would rather stay out of those markets than claim protections we cannot deliver from where the data sits.

3. Who may use it

You must be at least 13 years old, and at least 16 where local law sets that age for consenting to the processing of personal data — much of the European Economic Area does. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use 2bytes only with your parent's or guardian's agreement.

4. Your account

One account belongs to one person, and a phone number is what proves it. Keep control of that number and of the devices you are signed in on: whoever holds either can read your messages. Settings → Privacy and Security lists every signed-in device, and you can end any session from there.

Do not give your login codes to anyone. Nobody from 2bytes will ever ask you for one.

5. What you may not do

Accounts doing these things are closed, usually without warning.

6. Your messages stay yours

What you write and send belongs to you. You give us only the permission the service cannot work without: to store your messages and files and transmit them to the people and devices you send them to, for as long as you keep them. That permission is not a licence to do anything else with them, and it ends when the content is deleted.

You are responsible for what you send, including having the right to send it.

7. What we promise, and what we do not

2bytes is young software. It will have faults; there will be days when messages are slow or the service is down. We do not promise it will always work, and we cannot promise your messages will never be lost.

The service is provided as it is and as it happens to be available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. If your local consumer law gives you rights that cannot be excluded, those rights stand and nothing here limits them.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or data, or for anything arising from your use of the service or from content sent by other people. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Again, where local consumer law says otherwise, it wins.

9. Suspension and ending the agreement

You may delete your account at any time — see how to delete your account. No reason is needed and none is asked.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 5, or where we must to comply with the law. We may also stop offering the service entirely; if that happens we will announce it here and in the app, with enough notice for you to take your data elsewhere.

10. Changes

These terms can change — the new version appears here with a new date at the top, and material changes are announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use 2bytes after that means accepting them. If you would rather not, delete your account.

11. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the operator of the service is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before going anywhere else, write to hello@2bytes.app: most things are settled that way, and we will answer within a reasonable time. If a dispute cannot be settled, it goes to the courts at the operator's place of establishment, unless the consumer law that applies to you mandates otherwise — in which case it does.

12. Odds and ends

If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. Not enforcing something once does not mean giving it up. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about 2bytes.
